So, to really appreciate this trip, and my pop, you need to take a look into the Command Vehicle. No, it’s not a Hummer or some all-terrain Jeep vehicle…it’s a Toyota Sequoia. I have grown up with our cars being referred to in some fashion or other to¬†being a Command Vehicle. I can only guess the reason for that is because my pop was a police officer for 34 years. NOTE: The Command Vehicle is sometimes called the¬†Emergency Vehicle if we are in traffic and he wants to get around the other cars, this declaration is always proceeded with him making siren sounds.

This SUV has carried us over 3,500 miles through some of the prettiest country I have ever seen in my life. So, it is with great pleasure that I introduce you to the Command Vehicle and all the items that make it a C.V.

The most important asset of the Command Vehicle. This cross hangs from the rearview mirror.

This was my addition to the C.V. My dad's car has no MP3 hookup so I had to kick it old school. #cassettetoipod

Yes. This is a headlamp. Now you may ask yourself why? Why? Why? Is he a coal miner? No, his reason is because if you get a flat tire at night you will need both of your hands. Ok Dad, pretty brilliant.

This is an old fashioned GPS. They call it an atlas and older people buy them to tell them how to get somewhere.

Flashlight. Umbrella. Glass cleaner and rag. Self explanatory. Good stuff to keep in a Command Vehicle.
