Big Girl on a Mission started out as a blog. A simple platform to chronicle my adventures each year living in my sister’s van for a week to raise money and awareness for a battered and homeless women and children’s shelter. (See the Videos Blog tab for the visual documentation of those endeavors.)
Today, Big Girl on a Mission is a Limited Liability Corporation created to help start-up and small non-profits with marketing and fundraising. I am the big girl on a mission and I have surrounded myself with some of the most talented, passionate people to help me do this.
I am living a dream I didn’t even know I had. I have been working in non-profit public relations/marketing/fundraising for 16 years and I thought it couldn’t get any better, but it has. I am joining in with people who are in the trenches helping make a difference in our world. I get to take the bucket of experience that I have and help the helpers raise funding and awareness to further their cause!!
This blog has grown up into an actual website for my company. And I love that, I do, but I don’t want to lose the opportunity to have some fun so I am keeping this blog going. Oh, now it will be peppered with blogs about marketing and fundraising and as usual with stories about people helping people, but those will be balanced with the irreverent and quirky written ramblings about my life.
Thank you to those who have encouraged me, prayed for me, laughed with me, held my hand and helped me to get here; Jesus, Chuck, Terri, Mike, Stephanie, Catie, Hoots and Thomas, Lisa, Stacey, Larry (Dad), Diane (Mom), Linda (Mom#2), John (Dad #2), Celeste, Derek, Justin, Maddy, Phillip, Nicole, Barbarita, Jen, Shaun, Dianna, and I am sure I am forgetting many others, please don’t be offended, I am writing this late at night.
